A Million Corks

I don't know if there were really a million corks. (I promise not to keep posting about Napa, but this was too good to pass up.) One of our favorite vineyard visits was Cakebread Cellars in Rutherford. During the tasting, they brought us into this room where the ceiling was completely covered in corks! I am always mesmerized by tedious and meticulous organization, and this was no exception. I think the corks really helped to warm up the room too. Or was that the cabernet?

We love Cakebread! We visited in October '04 and fell in love instantly. They were so friendly and we really enjoyed the private tasting my sister and her husband set up for us {we were celebrating our first anniversary}. Needless to say, we joined the wine club and are transported back to that day often as we uncork our lovely Cakebread wine.

What an incredible idea. We never got to Cakebread when we went to Sonoma last year but have heard it's wonderful. There are so many great places to visit.
